THE PROGRAMME

Knowledge you can put to work.

This intensive training prepares radiation workers for Category A licensing requirements of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Kingdom of Bahrain. It provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge of radiation protection, nuclear physics, detection and measurement, biological effects, regulatory frameworks, and radiation safety for workers exposed to ionizing radiation. The training prepares participants for the SCE licensing examination and does not issue the license.

This is preparation for the Supreme Council for Environment licensing process. Jadarah provides training and a Record of Attendance; licensing is handled by SCE.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

What you’ll take forward.

  • Explain radiation sources, nuclear physics, quantities, units, detection, biology, and health effects
  • Apply ALARA, time, distance, and shielding principles to reduce radiation dose
  • Identify external and internal exposure pathways and occupational, medical, and public categories
  • Address planned, existing, and emergency exposure situations through monitoring and control
  • Apply requirements for transportation, storage, security, emergency response, and SCE licensing preparation

Is this your next step?

  • Radiation workers preparing for Category A licensing, including workers exposed to ionizing radiation exceeding 0.3 of the annual dose limit
THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

Delivery

In-class attendance, face-to-face

Assessment

Written examination administered by the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE): pass at 80% and above; refer at 70%-79% after one re-training attempt; fail below 70% with additional training before re-sitting. Jadarah issues a Record of Attendance upon completion of the training. This assessment supports licensing preparation; the license is issued through the SCE process, not by Jadarah.
